Good design starts with good conversation. Before I open a sketchbook or Adobe, I want to understand the people behind the project — what they're trying to say, who they're trying to reach, and why it matters to them. That's where the real work begins.
I believe heart is as important as skill. Strategy and craft get a project to the finish line, but it's care — for the client's mission, the audience's experience, and the smallest detail on the page — that makes people actually feel the work. I practice design with ethics and purpose, because I've seen what happens when it's treated as decoration instead of communication: the message gets lost.
Over nearly two decades, that approach has taken me from Fortune 500 boardrooms to nonprofit basements, from pharmaceutical launches to grassroots fundraising campaigns raising thousands of dollars a few hundred at a time. Different rooms, same belief: design should do more than look good — it should do good.

“Lisa was one of my coworkers that I enjoyed working with most. Lisa approached her work with humility and care. Lisa is an empathetic mentor and a human-centered designer. She lit up talking about design, which in turn piqued my interest in design. Lisa also never missed a deliverable deadline and was one of the hardest workers I’ve ever met. What’s more, Lisa was incredibly down-to-Earth and was hilarious. She led from a place of authenticity, which meant that people would pass our workspace and hear us roaring with laughter. To me that is the sign of an excellent designer and employee: someone who approaches their work with joy and care.”
MOIRA FRATANTUONO
Development & Communications Director at Wide Angle Youth Media
“I had the pleasure of working with Lisa through the nonprofit, Wide Angle Youth Media. I was immediately floored by her intelligent, quirky designs, and her ability to insert her personality (when appropriate) into sophisticated content. She has a sharp mind for visual communication - sifting through a client’s abstract ideas or a yet-refined project brief to clarify its purpose, audience, impact, and a strategy to achieve those aims. She has a high attention to detail and the best laugh in the world! She lives and breathes design, and I highly recommend working with her.”
